Janice Y. Chyou, MD, FHRS

Dr. Janice Y. Chyou is a bilingual cardiac electrophysiologist and clinician-investigator at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.

Dr. Chyou has specific interests in atrial fibrillation, sudden cardiac death, and the intersection of arrhythmias and heart failure. Her ongoing contributions to science and professional societies span clinical science, scientific statement and guideline development, implementation, and digital health innovation. Dr. Chyou has chaired the American Heart Association Scientific Statement on Atrial Fibrillation Occurring During Acute Hospitalization, served on the Writing Committee of the 2023 AHA/ACC/ACCP/HRS Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Management of Atrial Fibrillation, and now serves as a member of the ACC/AHA Joint Committee on Performance Measures. Dr. Chyou values patient partnership, community engagement, and multi-stakeholder collaborations and has actively incorporated these dimensions across her clinical and research work.

Within the Heart Rhythm Society and the American Heart Association, Dr. Chyou has held leadership positions on national committees guiding operational and scientific initiatives and oversight. Dr. Chyou is a recipient of an AHA Second Century Science Award and a recipient of the WINN Excellence in Clinical Trials Career Development Award.
